ABS LIGHT ON, HELP!!!!!!!!
For a week now my ABS light stays on and off at random. And when it does decide to turn off, the traction light flashes, then both turn off. I just cant figure out whats going on with it. Could it be that my 2000 Leganza needs new brakes?? Any info would really help!!!!!

ABS LIGHT
Purpose: The ABS warning light alerts you to problems in the ABS system.
Maintenance Tips/Suggestions: When turning the ignition switch to the on position, the amber BRAKE, ANTILOCK or ABS light on the instrument panel should glow momentarily, and then turn off. If the light stays on or flashes, or comes on while driving, it indicates a fault in the ABS system. Have your car's ABS system inspected immediately by a professional technician to determine the source of the problem.
The ABS controller is getting data from one of its sensors that it doesn’t know how to interpret. Your vehicle has four tone wheels, mounted on the end of the axles that look like gears, and a sensor is mounted next to these wheels. These sensors count the teeth on the tone wheels to tell the ABS controller how fast the road wheel is rotating.
So, (a) a tone wheel could be missing some teeth; (b) a sensor could be bad—or improperly adjusted; (c) the wiring to the sensor could be broken or shorted; (d) there might be some internal problem in the ABS controller’s solenoids or pumps (like a hydraulic pump that has failed and doesn’t respond when the controller does its Power On Self Test when you turn on the key); (d) or 30 or 40 other things.
What you need to do is to find a mechanic who has a scan tool that can interface with your ABS controller and have him poll the controller for the error code. The error code will at least tell you where to start looking.
It’s possible to troubleshoot the sensors with just a digital multimeter, but at the very least you’ll need a shop manual for the voltage and resistance values at the sensors, and that won’t help you any if there’s an internal issues in the controller.
or try to reset your ecu if the problem persits see a mecanic lol reseting procedure below,
How to: Reset your ECU
Resetting the ECU is done to wipe off all the feedback the ECU got about the engine, after doing that the ECU will start learning about the engine all over again so it can "feel" the new mods or service you just done.
1- unhook the -ve connector of the battery or the ECU's fues (check your manual for the correct fuse).
2- step on the brakes so that the brakes light drains any stored power in the car's electrical system.
3- put back the - ve connector of the battery.
4- turn on the ignition key on for 5 seconds then back off for 3 consecutive times
5-start the engine.
6- follow the learning procedure at this link:
