OK so if i am considering the following engine swaps what tranny you recommend?
1- 1.5 Lanos---> 1.6 DOHC
2- 1.5 Lanos---> 2.0 DOHC
3- 1.6 Nubira--> 2.0 DOHC
also what is the difference in gear ratios between an F16 and F20? basicly i am looking for a shorter ratio tranny to get the fastest acceleration... i don't care about top speed.

There seems to be some confusion as to what's different with the D16 and D20.
On the Tacuma it's the final drive ratio that's different on the D16 and the D20. D16= 3.944:1, D20= 3.722:1
However, the D16 fitted to the Lacetti has a final drive of 3.722:1 (like a D20). However 1st gear in the 1.8L has a ratio of 3.545:1 (the 1.4L and 1.6L have ratios of 3.818:1) yet they are all labelled D16.
Now, a further development is that the D20 fitted to the Evanda (Magnus) has a final drive of 4.176:1. On top of that, only 1st and Reverse have similar ratios to the other D20s. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th are all different.
A D20 from a Magnus would be the best bet for acceleration it seems.
