On a 2000 Leganza where is the transmission control module, isn't it under the dash?
My friend had aftermarket cams in his and the transmission never shifted right afterwords. Reseting the ECU did no good. Battery unplugged for several days, nothing. He unplugged then plugged back in the transmission computer, and it was a night and day difference. Light throttle provided seemless shifts, hard throttle down-shifts were excellent, and the transmission actually chose the proper gear to keep the motor in its powerband. It seemed it relearned when and how hard to shift when this was done.
