how is that a clutch test??

1- put the car into first gear ---> no problems... apply clutch and slip it to first.
2- hold the clutch to the floor ---> ok now the engine is disconnected from the tranny with 1st gear engaged.
3- take your foot off the the brake ---> my foot was not on the brakes in the first place

the clutch is not applied so far so how can that be a slipping test?? please help me understand what you just discribed.
