Problem with shifting 2000 Lanos HB 45000 miles

Transmissions, Clutches, torque converters, Gear ratios, Brakes, Pads, etc.

I do alot of hand break turns on sandy car parks, and since then i found my gears feel not smoothe any more, It sticks when trying to put it into first or reverse, and 4th and 5th but 2nd n 3rd are alrite! :p Dunno if i have the same problem. But sometimes its fine, it always makes a scraping noise going into 4th gear tho.

A picture of my gear stick ?:p Its just a bit sticky when changing gears compared to when it used to be not sticky.

Ok sorry it took all day but I did my two vbelts and oil change today and almost did my cam position sensor but its too damn cold


so here are the pics of what I think is my problem this sucker is way too loose and wobles up down side to side ect ( i know it has to have some play but I mean come on )

this is the shifting mechanism itself... i don't know if you can replace just the bushings or have to get a new mechanism

hmmmm what would be easier ?? bushings or the whole bracket?

i think it is much easyer to replace the whole mechanism rather than going through the hussle of replacing bushings and all.

you can change the bushing. brian (the aveo guy) used a solid bronze bushing instead of a rubber one and said it shifts like a ferrari, with no side to side play at all. perhaps that is an option for you
