They are better... for the track. But no matter how hard you use the brakes on the street you wont get enough heat in them to be of any use.DaewoLeganza wrote:lol r u sure reds not better than grn?Audacityracing wrote:yes... and cross-drilled and slotted actually REDUCE the temp... so they would make the situation WORSE!

look at the chart... hard compounds mean that they require heat-up to be effective. 'bite" may be great, but they instantly fade unless they are hot enough... and then you just scrape through the pad instead of actually braking!
listen to me or i will have you tossed out again dude! how many ways do we have to spell it out?!

thnx tho will buy grn how bout the blue stuff
i dont think green stuff pads are that great. i would go and research other companies
blue stuff pads are the best choice for you.... if you want to die in a firy crash because you couldnt stop
i have green stuff pads and 12" rotors.. it stops like crazy but they are already halfway worn and i bearly got any usage out of them... but it makes the car do indo's  j/k

its copyrighted so it cant be posted
well the grns r effective when u run 0C when the reds r 100C and the yellow r 105C
+1kinkyllama wrote:I'm guessing the reason he's telling you guys to go with the green is because the red and yellow probably need so much heat in them before they become effective that they are worthless on the street.

try to understand that those pads doesn't give their best unless they are used under certain conditions... if you drive at speeds like 100mph or more then they are ok but if you went slower than that you won't be able to stop the car and will go into an accedent while going like 20mph.DaewoLeganza wrote:lol r u sure reds not better than grn?Audacityracing wrote:yes... and cross-drilled and slotted actually REDUCE the temp... so they would make the situation WORSE!
those pads needs loads of heat to work fine... low speeds+crossdrilled rotors will make them not wor at all, you will end up crashing then come here and say "red stuff sucks" we will simply reply to you saying: "they don't suck, you just used them in a wrong way".

no thats not the reason why, its because the material they use takes a much higher tempature to disapate at.DaewoLeganza wrote:because u have to press hardergenie47 wrote:With all this debate over red and green and yellow, a gentle reminder. The hotter the brake pads are rated, the more stock rotor unfriendly it becomes. Meaning, they will warp your rotors.
So The higher rated brake pads=better for track use
because when you are only driving 20-80mph the brakes get hot but not as hot compared to when you are traveling 100mph+ like on the track.

Yeah they are great pads. They work just as well as stock pads under normal breaking.. but if your say on the freeway and traffic comes to a hault real fast you'll be able to stock much much faster w/o any brake fade. Take out on the track and they're great also360 Dynamics wrote:Just go with KVR carbon fibre.... talk to Kinky if you need feedback...but so far they outperform green EBC, while providing superior cold/hot braking.

Brakes are one place you do not want to mess around. I have no personal experience with EBC, but I know the Redstuff pads are race only and would invite disaster on the road because you would not get them anywhere near hot enough to do any real stopping. Don't be dumb and buy Redstuff just because they are more expensive, you will die.
The KVR Carbon Fibre pads are an excellent option, and would be my personal pick, but considering you have a street only vehicle, you could go with Bendix Semi-Metallic pads and still have excellent brake performance.
