Wha's the difference (visually) of clutches between flywheel

I was looking closesly side by side of clutches; one for the flat style flywheel and the other for the pot style. I couldn't see any difference so what is the difference?

To my knowledge the clutches are the same.... it's the pressure plate that is different.

You could theoretically use a stock pressure plate with an aftermarket clutch

You could also use a stock clutch with an uprated pressure plate.

Lots of options depending on power requirements.

That's actually what I meant. I looked at the PPs side by side and didn't notice any difference.

At first glance the pressure plates would look very much similar, if not identical. The difference is in the spring pressure within the "fingers" of the pressure plate. This is what creates the clamping pressure.

danny post pics of what you are talking about. the pot style PP and the flat PP that i've seen are very different.

Arent there some clutches you need an aftermarket flywheel with?

I know a friend of mine had to get a new flywheel with his new clutch for his evo, im not sure this is because the new clutch didnt suit the flywheel or because the old flywheel was damaged though.


As far as the pressure plates go, i've no experience with that so pics would be good to help understand it better
