Interesting find on the aluminum flywheel

Post by GsiTurbo »

I was just lurking on the j-body.org, 2nd gen sunbird forum, and found some interesting information.

Fidanza 8lb alum flywheel.... note how close does it resemble our C20GET/T2XSED/U20SED 6-bolt dish flywheel. Possible match?

Everything is going onto, what seem to be the 2.3l or 2.4l DOHC block

This is definitely something worth investigating further....

Fidanza makes 9.5lbs steel units and 8lbs alu ones specifically for our motors. MSRP is between $440 and $500 depending on which type.

that is interesting that the Quads used a 6-bolt pot style (so does the "Saturn" Astra 1.8)

I'll have the tech at Fidanza run down some specs and see if its a match.

Nice fine Tom.
