2000 nubi tranny conversion

Post by modem_over »

Hi guys, i am slowly but shorley converting my woo into a street racer. The automatic tranny that came in her just isnt working for me. I am trying to find an atleast 5 speed manual tranny that i can bolt in. Not much of a mechanic so i need something that will kinda just fit in. Also what do i hafe to do to get the shifter properly secured in the cabin with appropraite skirts so it looks nice? Specificly it ia a 2000 nubirs, 2.0 dtech motor

what kind of whp are you looking for and what do you want to spend? there are a tone of tranny's world wide and they can easily ba made 'bullit proof' but you first have to figure out what you want to spend.

Well, my day to day job is a prison guard, not to much cash in that. Gonna stay with the stock 2.0 maby a few minur upgrades, wires, intake, nothing major. More or less i am looking for a tranny i can get from a junkyard that will fit, trying to keep the custom parts making to a minimum

i haven't done a great deal with the nubi chasis so i can't say for a fact, but most of trannys that will mount to the engine might need a specific axle length that i don't have the interchange info on.

the best bet for now might be going to www.junkyarddog.com and placing a parts request for a 5-speed from a nudira, otherwise i'm affraid that you will need to do quite a bit of fab work.

Its actually a kinda easy project.. theres just alot of work and time. You would be better off selling your current woo and buying a 5 speed woo. And the factory transmission is only good for up to 200 hp so if your trying to pass that you might want to go a little bigger.
