Steering Problem

Post by azazel_18_2 »

I have a 2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX and I like it. The problem I have right now is ONLY after I turn the steering wheel will not return straight for a few seconds then all of a sudden it jerks back straight and causes the car to swerve. I like the car but I can't let anybody else drive it because of this. HELP!!!

look at the fire wall in the area were the steering linkage is exiting... their is one - or maybe 2 - flex linkages that usually gets contaminated with dirt and crap and turn hard... try to use WD40 to clean and soften their motion.

Ok. I see that. I will clean it with carb cleaner then lube it up with something like Deep Creep which I believe is alot better that wd-40 but that's my opinion. Thanks for the help. I will get back to you.

I lubed it up and still the SOS. I am replacing the tie rods as we speak. One was pretty damn wore out. I am trying to get this other damn aluminum wheel off so I can replace the other.

I bumped this up for a safety reason.

Do not drive any car that has these problems!
If a tie-rod end breaks or falls out ?
You will NOT be able to steer the car.
Tie-rod ends do wear out. They do get loose.
So, if you have any wierd/strange steering ?
Stop driving your car until you find out exactly what is wrong.
