How do I tighten my handbrake?
It's something that would be done on a garage service, but don't know how to do it myself.

remove the back part of the mid consol... their is two screws, one on each side
you will find a 10mm bolt at the end of the ebrake cable... tighten it a bit more.
put every thing back in place and have fun.

Thanks. Is there a certain amount you should tighten it?

Done it now, thanks ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)
Is it possible to tighten it too much, so that the brakes are kinda on when driving? That could be damaging.

i am not sure but i think that can be done... only way to check is to jack the car up and spin the rear wheels by hand when the e brake is not applied... the wheels should spin freely without much effort.
also if the ebrakes are engaged at all time you should notice that the car is a bit "heavier" while driving and the rear wheels will get too hot... a burning smell might accompany such setuation.

If it was only as simple... FYI to others on this issueMMamdouh wrote:remove the back part of the mid consol... their is two screws, one on each side

I had the same issue... went to adjust those nuts... and found out there wasn't enough thread to get the P Brakes to engage... I had to pull the hubs and manually adjust the parking brake pad assemblies out with the threaded adjuster (in which one was frozen and I had fun breaking that loose
