tranny slipping
2001 lanos sedan, 1.6 with 4 speed auto (4T40E) 55,000 miles on the car ,about 30,000 on tranny (new, replaced under warranty) i have the autotrans interceptor. tranny fluid is about 15,000 miles old. while the car is in gear its fine, but when it shifts it slips into gear. the autotrans interceptor has a adjustment that will stiffen the shift, even with the adjustment at full stiffness its the same. im gonna do another tranny flush tomorrow, what else should i look at / do / change. i know that a filter and gasket (and fluid) are needed but is there any thing else i can change that might help? if i cany fix it tomorrow im gonna have to get a second vehicle (preferably a truck) and if it comes to that im 99% sure i want to do a manual swap. if any one can help ne fix this its greatly apreciated, thank you in advance.

well i went to get a pan gasket and filter...every where said they have to order it or its dealer only. and there is 2 variations of the 4T40E, a 12 bolt and a 16 (i think it was) bolt vi didnt onow which it was. but the tranny is slipping bad ebnough that i think the clutches are shot. also i removed the autotrans interceptor, its still the same. looks like im gonna park the woo for a while and get another car to drive while i work on it.

Iam not sure about the woo auto tranny, but if there is hoses that goes to the tranny, make sure that they are properly seated and that the lines haven't collapsed, if a line has collapsed it may not shift correctly.
Secondly i would think that the Torque converter may be messing up, or checkto see that the TC it securely and tightend on the flywheel cause if it isn't it can damage the grooves on the main tranny gearshaft that is turned by the teeth on the inside of the tc that fits on the main gearshaft.
Also i think if it slips really bad in reverse, cause the reverse gear isthe first and lowest gear on the tranny, that the tranny is shot. or that it was poorly put together.. if you could ever find a shop or a mechanic that knows or can look at the internal components ofthe tranny, you could either go to a junkieand pull the needed parts or see if you can special order the gear and or i think hydrolic 'inbetweeen" shifter gear .. but again i don't know much about the woo tranny i know lots about other gm ones like theones that goes on the 2.8 engies and nissan /honda trannys.. can't be much diffrence in the use of parts. XD
I hope this helps.

Sounds like a band has snapped or has warped that is used on each gear... amybe with that auto transhifter has damaged the bands on each gear. thats all that i can think of. If i can think of anything else daewoomofo i will tell you.
