Be careful changing the fluid though! The manual says that the automatic transmission fluid never has to be replaced, and I would listen to it! I was forced to change my fluid because of a leaky pan gasket, but after the change, I had problems with really jerky shifts (I'm talking as if someone kicks you in the butt every time you go into gear), and occasionaly some weird noises coming from the transmission.

Unless you have a really bad gasket leak that you need to take the pan off to fix, just stay with the fluid you have in there. I had my fluid in for like 180,000 miles, and when I removed it, it was in surprisingly good condition, and this was under the most stressful conditions for a car (delivery vehicle, humid, hot Florida weather).

Yes, its Dexron 3. While you are at it, you should also replace the oil filter (for the auto gearbox).

I know we don't have to "ever" replace it.. but when you punch a nice hole in the bottom of your transmission pan doing somethng stupid... not only do you gain a new respect for your car and driving, but you have to replace the oil and everything else =/
