Hi,
Nubira 1.6L DOHC.
Front left caliper is DAC12L NY-151.
Front right caliper is DAC12R CTK-11[].
What's the meaning of NY- and CTK-? Are the calipers different?
This question because the inspection center discovered a 20% difference in front braking power.
Pads thickness is OK. Disks thickness is low limit at 22mm.
Thks,
Daniel
Different front calipers L/R?

no idea about the codes but the right and left are different in terms of shape as each one is installed on a spacific side of the car just like tie rods.
however the difference is not in the power they apply on the brakes or else you will have a wondering problem under braking every time you hit the brakes.
if you are in doubt replace both calipers with a matching pair and call it a day... get a set of brembo rotors as well.

Thanks MMamdouh,
The car brakes straight even on hot one. That's why I was surprised by the bench test. The only thing I feel wrong is a slight pedal pulsation on light braking. I'll go to change disks since this is the original set and they have 87.000km.
Are the Brembo far better than original?

Ick... Pedal pulsation... My Impala used to do that... I replaced the rotors and still had the problem. Never did end up getting it to stop before I got rid of the thing.Daniel wrote:Thanks MMamdouh,

pedal pulsation is from wraped rotors... maybe you replaced the ones that are not wrapped or you wraped the new ones as well.

Well I've finaly changed pads and rotors on my Nubira. Got a full AKEBONO/ NPS set for just under 118 euros. Now I'm rid of pedal pulsation and braking is more powerfull.
I've a new question about pads. The old one's had two "buttons" close to the DAC mark (see pic 12) for I guess centering shims (see pic 5). The new pads don't have these buttons and I have refitted the shims as well as I can. Was it the good way to do or did I missed something?
Thks,
Daniel

those "bottons are for centring the warning pads... some after market pads don't have warning pads so they have no bottons.
it is OK if you installed the warning pads on the new brakes pads but they might get dislocated or so and cause squealing noise... if i were you i'd remove them and if you need warning pads you can get a set with warning pads next pad change.
