My Turbo Optima/Lemans/Astra has one..... Tom wants to copy it and sell it here in North America.

It makes the gearbox feel a little strange....the travel distance is reduce but the force required to shift is higher.... feels like your pushing the lever through tar.... I don't know if I like it... I will let you know.... I am going to take the short shifter out of my Optra and throw it in the Lemans to get a better feel for the shifting ( the previous owner cut off the reverse lockout... which bugs me )

Astra E is the Pontiac Lemans which is the same as a Lanos.

I can't say if the Aveo has identical linkage.... but they do look the same... same tranny... same shifter... so I would assume that it would work for you.

I'd bet it's identical to the Intimidator short shifter.

The previous owner purchased parts from Europe to put into the Lemans turbo I recently purchased... so I would guess the short shifter mechanism came from there.
