Lanos ABS brake sensor?

Post by panther »

Does anyone know if there should be a gap between the front ABS brake sensor and the toothed ring gear? My ABS light sometimes comes on as I drive and I checked the front abs sensor and it is actually touching the ring gear and worn a score mark across the teeth. It looks like the metal braket which holds the abs sensor has corroded and moved forward. I tried removing the sensor but the blasted thing will not move and I ended up rounding off the securing bolt.

Do you know how much of a gap there should be? although I'm not sure if the sensor has already been damaged by contacting the ring gear.

Will have another go at it tomorrow. Might try heating the bracket to see if it will bend back. I've not yet looked at the other front sensor but I bet that will also be the same!
