anyone know the RPO code for this tranny, or if it even came in a daewoo, and if so what cars did it come in, I'm trying to find one but i only know of one car it came in and it just so happens that car is really hard to come by

no daewoo's came with this tranny, all of our manual transmissions are opel/vauxhall based (euro spec)

HOWEVER

there are several cars that share that transmission. GM put that tranny in the fiero, as well as the 3.1L v-6 berettas and cavaliers. that should help you with that dilemma

yeah I know the tranny came on a lot of v6 cars but the belhousing is diffrent on the quad 4 and v6 cars that had th getrag 282, I need one that will bolt up to a 2.0 (same block as the leganza 2.2 and nibura) I was hoping thses cars came with that tranny, just would have made my search a little easier.

No.... the Isuzu 5spd only came with the naturally aspirated 2.0L 8V

All turbo 2.0L 8V (C20GET) engines came with the Getrag 282.

As far as I know.... all Getrag 282's have the same mounting pattern.... and you might want to consider the Getrag 283 which is a stronger version of the 282.... it can be found in the Bonnyville SSE.

I'm not sure.... but I think it may have also been found in the early nineties Grand Prix GTP..... but I'm not sure.

Hmmm..... thought I'd do a bit of research on J-Body with respect to the tranny..... I guess the 282 in the Sunbird was unique and that other 282's and 283's don't fit after all.

So... your SOL if you don't have a 5spd from a Sunbird Turbo or Grand Am Turbo.

I wonder if it would be possible to fit one of the european gearboxes into the Sunbird.... might be possible... I don't really know all that much about the sunbird as I'm more into the daewoo side of things.

Yeah I've been a member of j-body.org for two years now, lol and yeah the patern is diffrent from anything else, thats why I was hoping you guys knew another car with that tranny, and yes all the trannys from the C20LET and such will biolt up, if thats what you were refering to, same with any trannys that came in the daewoo leganza or nibura cause they all share the same block.
anyone know if it would be possible to take the guts out of a getrag 282 or 283 from a v6 car and put them into the isuzu trans, or is teh casing completly diffrent, I'm not much of a tranny person.....
