you won't be able to rev an auto tranny Woo up to 5000 RPM in neutral.

The Leganza only revs to about 4500 RPM in neutral.
It is possible to do the dreaded neutral drop, but the stress will be great enough to break CV joints, strip gears, and break mounts. It is one of the most horrible things you can do to a transmission.
Your best bet is to put it in D4, smash the brake pedal with your left leg, and rev the car to a desired RPM and let go of the brake quickly. This will give you a very quick launch, but also, wheel spin would be massive.

Yes, sad but true, my car won't rev past 3500 when I have the brake on in D4. But keep in mind, the Leganza was not designed to every see a drag strip. Especially with an auto. You would need serious time to get it to pull times in the 16s.D4? on the drag strip did brake hard but it only rpms to 2200 or so
the stall is set at about 2000rpm, so to get a good launch you will need to put in a 3000rpm stall converter. My leganza will rev out to 6500 in neutral. Neutral bashing can snap transmissions, a friend of mine did it around a corner in a 3L VL commodore and snapped the trans.

the motor cuts in and out when you do that. The ZF box in 2L leganzas is very similar to what is in a peugeot 405. My new trans is from a 405 and im quite pleased because the reco torque converter locks up 3rd gear as well as overdrive so it is a bit better on fuel
