check www.quaife.com

look at their Opel/Vauxhall section...

http://www.quaifeamerica.com/downloads/27-30.pdf

thats a direct link to their F13-F40 trannies with complete gear ratios.

You'll need adobe acrobat reader.

And i think it's the
D20/F20 or even try throwing a FWD modded F26 (6-speed and can handle unbelieveable amounts of HP/Tq.)

and being that u have the 1.6l 16V Nubi i'm guessing it would most likely be the same tranny as in the 1.6l 16v U.S. Lanos which is D16... the us version of the F16.

Don't work on me.

How can I find out which gearbox will match my car? To put the F20 5speed-6speed on my car do I need some extra parts? From where can I buy the F20 and how much costs? I hope I don't bother you with my questions but I really want to change my gearbox.

Not a problem there Nubie ... tbh i htink the D20 should be almost a direct boltup ... you'd probably need a bellhousing (maybe?) ... i'd check with Tom/Chris/Shaun to be sure... also I'd read the Gearboxes FAQ at the top of the Tranny section just to get a better background...

and my bad
the website is
www.quaife.co.uk

I apologize on that aspect... but i was lookin into this

and i know for sure you can do atleast a D20/F26 swap... but you will need to mod the F26 as it is built for AWD.

It's the F-28 that is the 6sp that should be able to be used in the D20 bellhousing but of course I don't believe it until I see proof. As of right now it's rumored to work.

lol nubie that was my bad it was indeed an F28... In theory (for the past 2 years or so) has been tossed around that... the F28 will bolt up to your engine through a D20 Bellhousing... the F28 is set for AWD so your going to have to get it modded to work Front wheel drive only... i'd check with local performance shops, or even the local mechanics(if you trust them with your baby enough, i don't) ... now if this theory does hold true you will be the first woo owner who succesfully has a 6-spd.

The only downside is Quiafe isn't cheap... if you want a F28 transmission... i would ask Tom (360 Dynamics) Private Message him and he with his endless knowledge and oversea's contacts could probably source one for you from a salvage yard...

I think you would be searching for a Vauxhall Astra MKII? Just off the top of my head.

And again i apologize on that F26 mishap... i did mean F28 but i haven't toyed with the idea of the swap in almost a year...

i think quiafe wants around 20k US for a dogged gear kit... i think tom can find you one in england or a european country for probably under 5k... but again 5k + whatever to mod it to make your car work...

Sorry i can't be more helpful... at this point I would seek the Advice of possible Erfinder/Efrain/360Dynamics.

5th 1.174 or 1.130
6th 1.045 or 0.960 or 0.916

FINAL DRIVE RATIOS
4.200 4.500 4.846 5.180

Astra / Kadett F16 / F18 / F20 6-speed dog engagement gearkit QKE11C ?3295.00
Additional final drive ratio QRE11C ?470.00

http://www.quaife.co.uk/catalogue/page67.htm

to be honest that should be all you need... if you did want a 6th gear and then you can decide the ratios... I don't think you'll need to go the F28 route....

3300 British pounds is almost 37k pounds in egypt...

which is roughly 6,318.76 USD which is about all i make in a year so... odds are i hope you have a good job!
