speedometer quit

2001 leganza, speedometer quit. took to dealer (100 miles away). they ordered part & sent. local mechanic installed but speedo still not working. he said there is another sensor in transmission that is the one i need. i have automatic...anybody have knowledge on this? already spent $130.00 for wrong part

Sell the new speedo on ebay.

You can find full Leganza trannys on ebay for $150-$300
