Steering broken from Subframe

Post by BEKS »

I don't know if this is the right place to post this but would appreciate some advice.

I have taken my car to the garage and have been told that my steering has sheared from the subframe. I have not crashed the car in any way and it only has 57,000 miles on the clock even though it is 7 years old and as I have two young children I do not drive like a nutter!

There was nothing dramatic that caused this, I pulled away from the kerb, heard a clonk and when turning thought I had over steered, I turned left again and realised that although I was driving straight my steering wheel looked as though I should have been taking a sharp left!

Has anybody else experienced this?

Many thanks
