power lamp stays blinking

i had a problem with my 2002 nubira with a 4hp 16 transmision everytime the power light started to blink i could not pass 15mph that it would take a heavier shift almost like parking it would come to a total stop almost like you threw parking while driving after a couple of times that it would go away there was the time it never did so i took it down cause it started making like a grinding noise when i road it after the couple of times when it took that heavier gear, i got tired of waiting for my mechanic to fix it but who only told me it was the bearings and a solenoid that where bad but couldn't find the parts for it i purchased one today after i installed it i only put the ignition switch half way just befor starting it cause i still had a couple of things to be tightened and installed but just to see there it was the blinking light was blinking after all the lights turned off I would like some one to give me a little hope that if i turn that car on i'm going to have problems, but i read in a couple of forums that if you are low on oil or if you have to much it would start blinking, this transmission was taken off another nubira working perfectly but as they took it down pretty much some oil was spilled since the converter was pulled out to could any body recommend what i should do?
