My new Nubira Brake Rotors

Post by Carr »

I have been upgrading my front rotors this afternoon and thought i would share my pictures with everyone. Let me know what you think.

The rotors are RDA brand and were very cheap compared to most of the slotted rotors I have found. They look to be identical in design to the OEM rotors but have the faces slotted, can't complain though as they cost me under $200 for the pair.

I have only installed 1 side so far, will probably do the other side tonight or tomorrow. It was rather easy to do, the hardest part was spreading the pads apart to fit over the new rotor, only because I had no tools and had to improvise. I will be getting some new pads and a full brake flush in the next few days and will only be driving about 5km on these pads so I wasn't too worried about damaging them.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I fitted the other side last night and it only took 10 minutes as compares to 1.5 hours for the first side. I still haven't taken it for a drive yet as I want to drive as little as possible before I get my new pads.

I think i need to clean my calipers and maybe give them a coat of red paint. What would be the best thing to clean them with? I have some degreaser and a solvent base wax and grease remover. I was thinking of starting with some water and brush to remove the loose dirt then hit it with the degreaser and brush then finishing with the solvent to prep it for the paint. Does that sound ok? Also, what do I have to take care with other than the seals on the brake piston? Thanks.

already done that on a lanos... if your car got the same front suspension setup as a lanos then you can do it as well
