Hi everyone. I’m not sure I’m placing this message in the right forum. Anyway,
I have a 2001 Lanos 1.5.
Where is the cabin air filter on my car? What should I do to replace it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

moin,

maybe to late, but in germany you can buy a cabin filter for the lanos. partnumber in the year 2000 was ZZ07002. but i only find it in the accessories catalog.

The cabin filter only works on the RHD lanos, and the first gen models iirc. Because the RHD Lanos share the same evap box as the leganza/nubria. However, installing is a pain in the ass because there is no access slot like on the higher priced models. You need to disassemble the air box, stuff the filter in (fits fine) and assemble again. Kind of a pain to do every 3-6 months if you ask me.

Daewoo came up with the idea of cabin filters after the initial design of the air box. On the Leganza/Nubria they designed an access slot, but on the lanos they just left it as is. If your evaporator ever goes though, you can order the updated case and install it, and make filter swaping a 1 min thing. Again don't know if the benefits are worth the labor though...

can you give more details about this process???

labor here is so low and i am a very good handy man so this could be a very nice thing to do specially that the climate here is always dusty... you will make half the Egyptian population happy with such thing

if you have pics for the RHD lanos where the filter is shown, parts to be replaced, step by step guide... anything will be appreciated

Hmm getting part numbers for rhd vehicles and for a defunct vehicle (here in the us anyway) would be difficult. however, find yourself a 1998-1999 Lanos RHD, the evaporator housing is the same as the leganza/nubria. Main difference being the latter have a built in access slot which allows you to pop a filter in, because Daewoo decided to add cabin filters to it's higher priced models. You can either order said cabin filter (same for all models) and tear out your dash board and pop it in, and tear it out again in 3 months to replace.

Or your can purchase the cover from a nubria/leganza which has the built in door and swap them which makes the job a 5 minute thing in the future...

Hello from Lanos Cars Club (lanos.cc - Russia)
Sorry for my english.

Lanos has an alternative cabin filter.
You can get it on my ebay page.

And i have filters with active coal.

Installing of filters takes 5-10 minutes, but it rather inconvenient.
