early 1.8 OHC crank in a 2.0 block...

Post by gse_turbo »

as above, i'm wondering if putting an early 1.8 OHC crank in a 2.0 block would work. i've been looking for specs but all i have is genaric stuff. what is the bore spacing? if i remember the 1.8 OHC and 2.0 are the same but i'd like to get solid info.

i'm thinking of building a 88mmx80mm 2.0 DOHC for more HP than TQ, what do you think?

I don't know if you've been onto Darkmucks LT3 (C20GET) site..... it has some nice specs on some of the older cars.

I use to go on there all the time.. but it's been ages since I was there last.... I don't know if the forum is even going (I'm going to check after posting this )

Here is a car and driver review talking about the 1.8L turbo.

http://lt3engine.i8.com/specs/2000sunbirdarticle.html

So they list the 1.8L as having a bore of 84.8mm and a stroke of 79.5mm which is approximatly the same as what you figured.
