bolt on OE turbo kit for the ecotec

Post by gse_turbo »

check this out, finally found a Z20LET turbo and manifold. i'm not bidding on it but it would be a great kit for someone wanting to use a T25 turbo. great for fast spin up for a road racer.

Beware of used ones...... one of the members on this forum bought one from the UK and there was so much shaft play that the turbo was deemed useless. (despite the original seller saying it was "like new" )

Needless to say it's not exactly easy to return an item to a seller from the other side of the atlantic ocean.... in the end he never got his money back and it wasn't worth the cost of shipping to North America.

does this person have the complete unit? the is a shop near by that rebuilds and rebalances turbos.
perhaps he'd be interested in selling.

With the cost of the unit plus shipping and customs from the UK the turbo was going to be rather expensive.

He opened up a dispute with EBAY and they told him that he would have to have the turbo taken to a company that rebuilds turbos to determine if it was "NFG"

In the end that option would also cost quite a bit.... so he cut his losses and left it to a friend in the UK.... who returned it to seller in a "unique" way.

So the short answer is "No" he doesn't have it anymore.

For the price of it I'd rather get an GT28RS and either purchase an existing manifold (such as the one Tom was selling ) or have one made.

Z20LET manifold will fit T20SED. They are set to use KKK turbos, which use Garrett cartridge with wheels. They 'should' accept T25/28 units. Exhaust connector is a V-band clamp.
