Those are pretty decent prices..... they sell for quite a bit more than that over here..... the SMT6 sells for close to $400 and the SMT7 sells for close to $500

My friend owns a performance shop.... and I think that even with his high level discount the cost of the SMT6 was around $250 each.

If you can get them for $205 USD perhaps I should talk to him and see if he want's to buy a few off you..... I would probalby be interested in an SMT7

Chris, I have a Forenza and Lanos set of harnesses that I'm working on to make the appropriate pigtails to use a MegaSquirt n' Spark. It's a cheaper, better option for tuning with minimal modification. If you swapped your fuel pump and injectors, as well as the ECU you could have a totally tuneable system on par with the AEM or MoTeC.

It's a thougth for you... no need for any custom wiring... just plug and play :D

I recently sent an E-mail to the sales department for the US distributor of PerfectPower. The SMT6 kit sells for $407.50 with same day shipping, but he also says that the programmer "need to have it Pre Configured and wire diagram for your for the 2001 Daewoo Lanos Sport 1.6, ......add $75". So, $483.50 for the SMT6 kit.

Is it really worth it for such tuning capabilities? How much of an improvement will one see from the SMT6 alone, will it make $500 of difference when running with nitrous? I'm really intrigued, but I'm not sure I want to shell out so much money.

remeber that smt6 won't be good for our cars. only smt7 can manage with closed-loop cars (nubira, lanos, etc).....

I was thinking about the SMT7 for my Lemans turbo..... it would make fine tuning a bit easier.

The Megasquirt is a good little unit..... I am still considering it..... but I don't really need a "standalone" system at this point.

I could also reprogram the Factory ECU.... but just don't have the time to go through and learn how to learn/modify the machine code
