http://www.carsales.com.au/car_sales/ne ... _42_32.htm

from the website

"It is powered by a four cylinder engine that is manufactured by General Motors Holdens in Melbourne. "

"The design program was commenced in 1993 and code named the V-100 project. "

"The engine has been jointly developed by Daewoo's Bupyung Technical Centre and Holden Limited in Melbourne."

Question about High Octane of Daewoos Answered!
"The Leganza's engine is built by Holden at the Port Melbourne engine plant and shipped to South Korea where it is fitted to the Leganza on the production line. The engine management system has been developed by Daewoo, in-house. The system will allow the car to run on standard octane fuel, but adapts automatically to premium unleaded fuel for better performance."

Auto Transmission
"The four speed automatic transmission is sourced from the ZF company of Germany. It is hydraulically controlled and has a two mode operation. Whenever the vehicle is re-started, the transmission will always default and set itself in the Economy mode. The power steering system has a lateral force check valve designed to prevent unwanted 'side shock' being transmitted through the steering wheel."

What do you want us to reply to???

I allready know that all the Daewoo motors come from Holden's Australian plant ( I have actually talked to them via email when trying to determine the Daewoo engine family history )

Are you somehow excited that the ECU can adapt for use with various octane levels??

I just don't know why you think this post is such a big deal....

ZF transmissions are very common and the one in the exotic sports car probably has absolutely zero parts in common with your automatic tranny in your leganza.

First off yours if front wheel drive and there are no exotic fwd cars (none that I can think of anyways) .... they are all either rear wheel drive or AWD so the transmission is a totally different model and setup.
