I think it should work reasonably well on your car, but I'd wait for one of the more experienced turbo guys to post. What year is the WRX? If the turbo is in good condition $150 seems like a really good price.

It'll probably be a TD04L turbo. $150 is a good price - check it for shaft play and for any leaks, etc. If its from a 2006 model with 8k miles you'd hope it's still in good condition!!! 8)

TD04L should be internally wastegated at 6-7psi (and should still be good up to around 18psi before it starts getting outside its efficiency...). 6-7psi with the right supporting modifications should be fine on stock internals i reckon.

I was spooling the TD04 quickly on a 1.5L SOHC, so it'll start boosting very early on the 2.2L but probably be a little breathless at high rpm. It'll still work very well - very smooth but you wont get so much of a turbo kick like you would with a bigger turbo, itd be smooth like NA power i believe - so it depends on your driving style too i guess...

If it was me i'd hold back and keep looking a good sized T3 (or a VF-39 8)) for the 2.2L - gives you more scope for the future (which you'll need  ).

i was reading that it is capable of moving 400cfm for 200hp 300cfm are needed

remember that turbo comes stock on a 2.5L engine

for the price im really into it

for a stage 1 turbo kit is good

later bigger turbo will come with forged internals

i will see the turbo next weeckend in some Solo1 event the guy will be there

i will chek for shaft play and oil leaks
