Lanos swap.

Post by benzino »

Now before anybody says to use search, i have... Lol (i use google cos this one is so picky.)

What i'm after is info or pics in relation to an engine swap into my lanos. A lot of previous topics don't really have any conclusion and usually have a lot of broken pic links.

I have ordered the mount and i'm not bothered bout losing A/C but i am interested in what i need to do about the PAS?

Also does anyone kno if the small block x18xe1 with the F17 box can bolt onto the D16?
Thanks heaps.

so did you use the lanos speedo reading or did you have to use one that was on the c20xe gearbox?
does the c20xe computer need a speedo reading?

I didn't change the gearbox, so everything was from lanos...

c20xe needs a speedo for some features like higher idle rpm when driving... But it's not a must have..

so the coolant fans don't work with the c20xe computer and you have to use a piggyback?

also when you say "Gear shift isn't tuned well, clutch isn't tuned" what does that mean? did you have to tune the gears and clutch?

No. You just have to do some setting of clutch actuator and gear shifter...

Fans on lanos are switched by lanos engine's ecu... As you remove it, there is no actuator for switching fans...

Opel has termo switch screwed in radiator that switches fans on and off... I did (made/fabricate) the piggyback that was reading engine temperature from temp sensor and do the switching..
