i recon it is torque in kgms... that will be some 480 newtons

i guess such amount of torque would blow an F28 tranny as well... right?

Dear all..I'm owner of this car.

Post by Turbo Leganza »

Transmission is normal D20 (it's same as F20, but it's made my GM Daewoo).
I have experienced so many mission troubles with the above Transmission, I think that d20 (/f20) can't cover torque of my car.
Many of Daewoo turbo tuned car owners have experienced same tranmission trouble.

I would like to swap with F-28 (6speed) transmission or Hyundai new tiburon V6 6speed tranmission.
but it needs a lot of money if i'm going to buy F28 from Europe.
if i use domestic tiburon 6speed transmission (it requires many hard works.)

I already know that the above trouble from my friends in korea but the trouble is much big troubles more than i expected before.

Actually I satisfied with the power in a short time, but now i know that the limit of my transmission clearly.

I have two options at this moment, the first one is reduce power , another is transmission swap.

I think that the proper power with d20 is 250HP / 35 torque.

If anyone who try to make like my car, you have to considering the limit of your transmission.

Thanks.

An F28 can handle pretty much anything u throw at it - thats why they are so scarce and expensive LOL

I am making 264KW/477NM on the wheels with an F18 box - the trick is just NOT to run the car up in 3rd gear from LOW revs - anything above 4000RPM and the tranny should be OK. The reason for this is that the 3rd gear in the tranny for some raeson is approx. 5mm thinner than all the other gears in the F18/20 box, and this makes it "weaker".

generally speaking, the f28 is rated for 280Nm of torque, but it will take more, just might not last as long.

How would you mate the Tiburon 6 speed box to the Daewoo block, Turbo Leganza?

Very impressive! I'm not suprised about the transmissions at all. I blew up 2 D20 transmissions myself, with much less power than you have.

I have just recently installed F28 transmission, and that should be the end of those problems.
