Turbo application camshafts...

Post by Big P »

Sorry guys, not trying to saturate the board with posts here, but I am still trying to get all my ducks in a row. I would like to find out what camshaft the turbo guys here are running. I am interested in companies that make cams, cam gears, valve springs etc. for a T22SED or equivalent engine. Would also like to get schooled on specs as well if possible. I would figure that the factory camshaft in the N/A T22SED would not be sufficient in a turbo app due to it's lobe seperation/overlap. I would like to get the highest lift and duration numbers as possible with a (preferrably) 0 valve overlap. This way, I will not lose any cylinder pressure and keep efficiency at it's highest point. I was trying to find the factory cam specs for either the C20LET or the Z20LET but had no luck. I know that in the Pontiac Sunbirds, both the N/A and turbo cams were the exact same so I am not really sure, just looking for some confirmation. I have been doing some searching here and figured I got about 1/2 the parts researched that I need. I am figuring on getting the block work done, cranks lightened, micro polished, and balanced. The rods will be done ARP everything and Celvite bearings from Daftart's site. If you haven't been there yet, check it out there is some really good stuff on there, especially the main girdle, which I will DEFINITELY be using in my build. Anyway, hit me up with some info if you can, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Paul M
