gse_turbo wrote:i respect what you're saying Chris but as you know there are more factors that go into the pricing (time in CAD programing, shipping material to me, CNC cutting, silicone lamination, time in general)

i can see a group buy forming but it wouldn't be $30 uncoated. the working price at this point is $90 for the two but (at this point) i see no problem going to $75 for the two.

because of my current business situation, my costs have gone up to produce parts making certain items more expensive to produce, al-be-it still less expensive then most anyone else.
Hey it's worth a try :p

I really don't care about prices on ebay.... your trying to start your company rolling with the support of people here..... why not blow out a few at cost to our members and then up the price for everyone else?

I'm not going to say much more, but you should be very glad I'm too busy with my current manufacturing company to compete with you.

There is a reason why I'm the worlds largest supplier in the products I manufacture/distribute.

fair enough... I'll make that decision here shortly (deep discounts to daewootech members) but as you know business is business and as you've said many times "nice guys finish last"

i guess the theory stands as you would compete with me not because the price is high (which it's not) or because you need the part to provide a launch point for a company you are trying to start in an unstable aftermaket... you would compete just to live up to your mantra, and yes in that case i would finish last.

now that all the propaganda has been dealt with lets get back to the Q&A and topical posts.

It's a different material entirely... PTFE sucks at heat insulation and results in lower performance gains.

If you want a crappy plastic one we can do it for that price... but it's a crappy plastic one

tbh I don't think daewootech or any members should get special discounts. Daewootech.com will probably be 3/4s of your business... well I don't know about migweb.

kinky said it the simplest, even if i sold them on a separate shop website or something the chances are very high that whoever buys one will be a member and in turn would ask for a discount. as a result no profit would ever be made and i would only be braking even.

as for migweb... some people like the platform but others would rather sh!t down the intake manifold

Ok... go to Mig web.... check out the companies selling over their.... they allways give discounts off of retail.

why advertise at all if your not going to come up with something that is discounted?

I'm sure I have 1000 times the experience you guys do ( unless you've sold 60 million dollars worth of manufactured goods I don't know about )

It's not rocket science, the best advertisement for a product is the product name itself.

You need to get some product out there so it is a recognizeable name with a good reputation.

Sell one here three there and it will get you absolutely nowhere.

Blow out a half dozen products at cost, get your name out there and then you make profits off the next set of products once you've made a name for yourself.

If you make 10 of something and blow them out at cost within a week of outlaying the money it doesn't cost yourself anything.

Sure your not making a profit, but your not taking a loss either.

Think of it as a cash investment in advertizing where you get your cash back in a few weeks or months.

You see this as giving away profits from the only group of people you feel you will sell to, but there is a much bigger picture here.

The "Daewootech.com" group is probably 0.1% of the market.... it should simply be a starting point as opposed to your whole market.

I'm done with advice, It's obviously not wanted.... do what ever you want.

^ what he said. lol

on a more serious note, i agree with that DaewooTech is only a small portion of the market for such a product ESPECIALLY if you're producing parts for vauxhall/opel engines.

say, for instance, on 10 or so daewoo/opel/vauxhall forums you sell 10 to 20 products at break-even price just to get your name out, once people start realising that its top quality material more and more will start buying. (of course then you can put the price up more) and be sure to tell people that you're selling a limited amount at the discounted price, this will more than likely result in people buying before you know it.
Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.
