Latest Dyno Result

Post by xiaogary »

Hi Guys,

This is my latest dyno result done today. Had went for a few tuning session and some other modification after the last dyno chart posted on top. Such as new 2 inch mid pipe, new mid silencer, new rear free flow exos. New 40% lighter camshaft pulleys.

For conversion,

1 Kgm = 9.807 Nm.
So originally 18.2 Kgm (178.5Nm), after tuning is 20.6Nm (202Nm).

Managed to find one chart printed before the finalised tuning to see the torque in Nm.

This run is only slightly lower than final result. But the torque is selected as Nm. Easier to read compared to Kgm.

So that means I am 3.4 hp away from the limit.

I am getting only abt 12km/liter or equal to 34 miles per gallon. Using Shell Vpower (Octane 100).

Used to be getting 14km/liter or equal to 40miles per gallon. Using Shell 98 (Octane 98).

Yes..... pretty good when you consider Lotus probably had a bunch of engineers working on the project..... and it's good news that the higher HP didn't hurt the lifespan of the engine

I bet you could make 100hp per liter if you went to individual throttle bodies and webber carburetors.

I know that sounds like a step backwards.... but there are lots of 1.6L engines making serious power.

I remember a German company that managed something in the range of 200hp from their 1.6L 16V ( race cams, individual throttle bodies, 11.5:1 compression, carbureted, extended redline to 8000 RPM )
