Ok, So upon some really close review of the WTCC car photos I came across one of the engine OUT of the car (on a hoist).

Why is that waterpump pulley so large?


You'll also note what Garrett and I have been discussing in that the belt is round-toothed. I'm also a fan of the oil filter relocation kit there... it's for the suspension design... the angle of the axles got in the way.

Why are they using a fram oil filter, doesn't fram suck?

the engine is based on the c20xe, not the x20 hence the differences on the belt setup.

about the pump pully well you will have to ask swindon race engines, they built them. been building race engines for GM since it came out on 89 (BTCC, etc.)

I'm sure this is not an "off the shelf" oil filter..... I'm pretty sure fram is involved with a number of different types of motorsports

And yes.... Efrain is bang on.... it's a C20XE based engine..... I think there were some nice pics and specs for the engine when the WTCC Lacetti was first introduced.
