turbo question

Post by lanos2001 »

well i know a guy that'll sell me a used td04 from an eclipse. i know that all turbos have shaft play but he said his has like 1/16 of an inch of shaft play. i'm thinking it should still work very well but wanted to know what ya'll thought.

as long as there is no in and out shaft play, u should be good. Also check to see if the blades touch the housing when u move the shaft up and down.

ok, thats not that bad of a price, ur going to be getting the stcok intercooler, u might want to get a different intercooler, the stock one for the eclipse is bad, bt it isn't that great, u could benefit from a better front mount intercooler. But that price isn't bad, as long as the turbo is in good shape.

yeah it is the stock intercooler. its not the one i wanted but i'm gonna see if i can get it to work. i don't want it to be front mount. i wanna make it top mount but in the front of the engine bay so its right behind the grill. i'm not sure how thick it is so i might not be able to do that. i really want the stock intercooler out of the dodge SRT that would be perfect for what i want. if i don't get the intercooler i get the turbo for $180. hopefully the turbo doens't have up and down shaft play.

headers

In order to put a turbocharger in would you have to modify your whole engine like headers, cams, shit like that?

You can slap it on a completely stock car if you're not going to exceed 7psi.
