And i believe getting the engine from below is easier since you wont have to drop it in with an angle to get the transmission in first, but from down you just align it on the floor and pull up
i am tired as hell and wasn't able to think clearly yesterday... today it struck me that we connected the VGIS solenoid to the socket that used to be on the VGR of your old engine... no wonder the VGIS is not working

this brings up a serious question... how the hell will we actuate the VGIS solenoid when their is no socket for it on the 1.3 loom??

you might need to get the 1.6 wiring loom

we are getting the 1.6 ECU and loom... not sure if the 1.3 ECU is "ready" to control the VGIS and even if it did... how would we transfer the signal from the ECU to the VGIS solenoid?

This helps alot jeff thanks, but if you have what each pinout is for then everything is solved

honda guys are really lucky when it comes to wiring, everything has been done and you have all the diagrams you need lying everywhere on the internet to do anything else

I can't thank you enough my friend, and i don't need everything just the VGIS related pinouts

Another question, does the 1.3 ecu have the VGIS function but not wired or not at all?

Oh and i read somewhere on the forum or at aveoclub don't remember, that PrecisionBoost fooled around with the VGIS and triggered it manually at different RPM levels, so i just need to know did you just use your had to open the solenoid or is there another way?

all you need to manually trigger the solenoid i think is to wire a switch from the battery?
as it only a electric current

This is great too, i'm asking because i wanted to get an RPM triggered switch and set its window at 4500 rpm and just connect it to the VGIS but the 1.6 ECU should have more agressive maps for when VGIS is triggered and in open loop mode (WOT) to compensate for the faster moving air and make use of it, but if i'm wrong and the maps are the same then some one tell me because i'll get started on the RPM activated switch, it will save a lot of time

Actually today the electrician made the VGIS work with the 1.3 ecu, but it sometimes opens at 4500rpm and sometimes doesn't open at all, and when it doesn't open it gives me a check engine light until i lower the revs again and the check engine goes away, i'm getting an ALDL scanner and an O2 sensor with the controller and datalogger on sunday or monday max. so i'll connect the ALDL and datalog with the laptop while driving to see what this check engine light is and try to find a fix around it, and mr_g if i ever need the ECU then be sure we'll get in touch but i'm currently trying to just make it work since i'm turbocharging soon so probably i'll get rid of the stupid intake with the VGIS

Guys does anyone know if the 1.6 16v ecu has the same plugs as the 1.3/1.5 ecu, i mean if i remove the 1.3/1.5 one can i replace it with the 1.6 ecu without changing the wiring?
