How to make Performance Exhaust for Daewoo Lanos.

(Please move to How To Section)
Step 1.
Acquire a Daewoo Lanos standard / factory exhaust backbox section.
Step 2.
Cut pipe just behind the actual backbox.
Step 3.
Smooth the end off the pipe using a file. Also use the file on the other end of the pipe, remove any excess gasket that might be on there. If the exhaust gasket is ok to use again, be all means, but ideally replace with new one (costs about £ 5).
Before you go out and buy your new performance silencer/muffler/backbox. You want to check the diameter of the pipe inlet. This is 2”.
Now off you go and find the one you want. Bear in mind though im not sure if mufflers 1 will fit, because of the width, but mufflers 2 will.

Step 4.
As the Factory pipe is 2”, you will need an exhaust
clamp of 51mm / 2" if your new backbox pipe is less
than 2” and you intend to slide the new pipe into the pipe
you cut earlier. But if you get a backbox that the pipe has
an inlet of more than 2 inches (like the cherry bomb that’s
2 ¼ inches) you will need a bigger exhaust clamp (57mm
or 62mm). While your out you will need to get a new
rubber exhaust mount too, as the weight is greater at this point.
Step 5.
So far you should have a pipe like this, rubber exhaust mount and exhaust
clamp and of course your new performance muffler.
You can either weld the pipes together or use weld sealant.
Step 6.
Now you have all the parts, you can crack on with it.
If using the sealant, put some on the factory pipe and some inside or outside of the inlet of your new silencer. Then place the factory pipe (pic above) inside the inlet of your new silencer, or on the outside. Fill in any gaps with more sealant or using your welding kit make a join of the two pipes. Then attach the exhaust clamp, making sure you have greased or copper greased the screws on the clamp. Also do the same with the nuts n bolts that clamp at the flange.
Step 7.
Now you should have something that looks like this – (but without the exhaust clamp)
