How to: manual window crank removal

If you have a car that has manual windows and want to take the door panel off for what ever reason (new speakers, custom work, what ever) you will have to remove the window crank, there is a U shaped clip holding the handel onto the spindle


1. go to your local auto parts store and get a "door panel removal tool" like this one (less than $5.00)


2. you have to slide it between the crank and the trim ring, like this

(not a woo but its all the same)


3. you will have to work at it a bit, try sliding it in a different points, until you find the one that pops the clip out like this


4. you can then pull the crank off
