Quality Timing Belt Kit for 1.6 Lanos

Post by JohnnyC »

I've been looking around the internet for a timing belt kit with quality parts in it. Could anyone supply me with links to good ones, or if you have what I need, please quote me a price.

Tom said he was backordered on those... The timing belt is something I think I should do sooner then later. And I'd also like to get the other parts along with the belt if possible.

get an AC Delco belt. it's the oem replacement from GM and will last long enough for you to buy one from Tom whenever and replace it for your next timing belt change... plus it's pretty cheap

What about this one? Looks to me like it's a good price... For some reason I always worry about ordering things like this off of ebay.

Of course if I follow other people's suggestions, I should be replacing the water pump while I'm at it.

might as well since its the same amount of work to get the belt off as it is for the water pump. i bought my kit from tom and got that too. i still haven't gotten around to have it installed yet though.

Well here's what I got and here's what I paid for it:

Qty Name SKU Each Subtotal
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 A16D Daewoo 1.6 DOHC Timing Belt (GATES)T310 -Gates $47.37 $47.37
1 A16D Daewoo 1.6 DOHC Timing Tensioner BearingT66100 -PCI $32.20 $32.20
1 A16D Daewoo 1.6 DOHC Timing Idler Bearing T66101 -PCI $18.45 $18.45
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subtotal $98.02

He didn't have a water pump for me to buy from him. I'll have to look into that. How much does a water pump run anyway?

From that partsdinosaur guy. :) He had the gates belt on there, but not in a kit... so I had to order the parts seperate. I'll have to find a place to order the water pump from.
