Depends on the complexity of it. I do alot of very complex sites that usually take myself and two other developers a few weeks to do.

I'm a developer so I do all the stuff that happens in the back end and the UIs. A designer will make it all look pretty.
what he said
So how much is the usual price for a website more or less? and im sure you have to pay to keep it up right? how much is that?

+1

same here... with an idea... i can spark out a few designs as examples of "quality". lol
i've learnt HTML when i was 12, so my skills have evolved.

a few sites i made (none of them hav much of a purpose, but i jus do it when i'm bored):

http://ruudprogramming.atspace.com/

http://ruudart.atspace.com/

http://moonunitsoft.atspace.com/

that is, if anyone is still interested in having a website designed.
however, when it comes to backend... such as having "log in" capabilities etc. or a database or some sort of script to run with the site, im absolutely useless.. lol
i concentrate on designing the front-end.

sorry to dissappoint.
Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.

That's where I come in. I'm a web developer by trade and do all the back end stuff needed to run a web site.

It is impossible to put a price on a site without knowing what features you need the site to have. There is a whole process for doing proposals for sites. Typically I am billed out at $105/hr and a small to mid sized stand-alone site may take 40-50 hrs to do (depending on the features involved).

I don't manage hosting or anything like that.
