potentiometer = variable resistor (think volume control)

indeed... it's a SIMPLE AS CRAP version of what a SAFC does... but SAFC contains "maps" that follow a profile to maintain the proper A/F ratio according to the RPM

does it matter what watt resistor you use? if your not useing the potentiometer.

buy a authentic tuning chip. e.g. http://www.b-s.motor-chiptuning.de/. a nexia 75HP pilot drive one of it and he has now over 90HP...this value is determined on a test-bench...

I found the best all-round is a 22k resistor. many months of playing with a resistance substitution box!!! but it does work, ut not quite as they depict it in write-ups. the Woo sniffs the petrol, all you do is increase it a bit, so it gets just that bit more. Many people have tried it in my car, and all say it is more tractable.
