My Cielo/Nexia from Bucharest. What do you think?

Post by Lao »

Hello guys!

Today I decided to show my Cielo to you and receive some advices from Professionals.

It's a Cielo made in Romania, 1500cmc and 16 Valves (DOHC), Euro 2. From the modifications that I made I can mention:

- strutbar
- JVC MP3 with SOny Xplode speakers in back and Magnat in front
- central locking with alarm
- daytime running module (lights up the headlights (only the headlights) for the day time, as this thing is required by law)
- parking sensors with LCD included in the rear view mirror
- white turn signals front and back
- arm rest from an Espero
- 15" Borbet Type T alloy wheels with Toyo Proxes T1R tyres (195/50/15)
- sport shock absorbers
- Kadett GSI LCD tachometer
- shortshift (thanks Daewootech for instructions)
- thicker anti-roll bar (as seen in the pictures)

Modifications to come:

- 40/40mm lower springs (still looking)
- sport steering wheel ( I'm looking for a in-depth 9-10cm steering wheel, just like those in rallye cars, that come near the driver by 9-10 cm.)

Now, I will let the pictures and of course you to talk:

It's from an Opel Kadett GSI. Cielo made in Romania come from factory with a thiner sway bar than Nexias made in Korea. This one is from a KAdett GSI and it's a biiig difference from the factory one. ;)

Let me resurect my topic. New H&R 40mm front and rear springs bought.

In this foto you can see the rear springs installed as I was too unpacient. The front I hope I'll install them tomorrow. Now it looks like a tractor. BLEAH!

I also mounted a GPL (I also saw CNG name on the forum; GPL=CNG) gas kit, with the tank mounted in the spare tyre's place. Picture with the "vaporisateur". More pics soon.

Also, thanks to Daewootech.com I made myself a quickshift. Works like a charm. ;)

I really like those LCD dash/displays. One of my friends over here has the exact same one in his Kadett/Astra Mk2 GTE
Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.

Thank you for your words. ;) I have to change the steering wheel as well.

Today I mounted the front springs, wich on the paper says 40mm, but I guess it's 60mm lower. Now I have to think about what tot do:

1. I change them with a friend of mine that has 40mm on his Nexia (Cost: 0 Euro).
2. I change the dampers with shorter ones (Cost: 80 Euro)

What do you think about my "low rider"? :D

So, as my friend wanted those H&R springs, we switched them. Those are the fotos with the FK springs from my friend. I like my suspension now, it's really working and it looks good.

Bad thing happened to me today on the highway: something coming from the road broke my right fog-light, wich was newer then 5 days. :(

Did you make the strut bar? If so did you use metal or aluminum?

Cielo is the same car as Nexia, but under a different name. Nexia's instruments look exactly like Opel Kadett's. I don't know if they fit a Lanos.

The car is currently at the paintshop for back fenders repairs, so the idea of painting the Borbet T wheels just crossed my mind.

Now I need your opinions: which one to be?
