Erfinder's Optra 5 ( Lacetti )

Post by PrecisionBoost »

Here is what my car should look like a couple of months from now......

Image

I should have the Apex lowering springs some time in the next week or so and I hope to have rims and high performance tires on the car the very first day I see green grass :D

So far I haven't done much to the car....

Long cold air intake with performance filter
Underdrive Pulley
Short Shifter
Sony CD player, Digital Signal Processor and Multiband Graphic EQ

:D :D My Turbo Manifold is on it's way as I type this topic :D :D

In the USA it's the Suzuki Reno... better known all over the rest of the world as a Daewoo Lacetti.

We've had the Optra 5 / Reno / Lacetti for about 9 or 10 months now.... I'm not sure why the Reno was delayed in the USA... I suppose they wanted to sell some Forenzas first.

all the renos i've seen here in the US are hatchbacks and don't look anything like yours. they usually have a flat drop off for the hatch almost like an xb. and the hatch itself is black while the rest of the car is like red or yellow. hell if they had the optra five i'd either buy that or the scion xa.

Actually all the Renos I saw at autotrader.com were exactly the same as the one Erfinder has...

Hmm.... checked the Suzuki Reno and it says the car has 126HP

But the Optra5 has 119HP? weird...

Ya.... the bastards at GM detuned the engine :x

I'm hoping to flash the ECU with a Suzuki map to get the extra 7hp.

The SWT Reno/forenza version supposedly gets another 25hp?? (can't remember) from a simple ECU flash.... which would put the car at 151hp.... then with intake and underdrive that would probably be closer to 175hp at the crank.

I'm going to look at trying to see if I can get a BIN file from my ECU one of these days....I'm sure there are allready a few programs out there that can interpret the data.

Ok.... here is the picture with the car lowered about 1.5" in the front and about 1" in the back....

Here is what it looked like before...

If I get some time I will swap the tires from my "theoretical" to the current lowered look so that I can see what it will look like with new rims.

At some point in the near future I will be getting some performance struts for my vehicle ( Tom and I are working on research and Tom thinks he's found something that might work.... we don't know for sure yet)

Needless to say I plan to put the APEX springs on the performance struts and put my stock springs back onto the stock struts.

This way I can put the stock struts on for winter and have the lowered performance springs/struts for the summer.

Once I get them I will do a side by side comparison of the two vehicles to show the difference in ride height.
