Well guys I actually have an update to post.
Someone flattened my tires about a week or so ago so I've been running two 14" rims in front and two 17" rims in rear.
The stock alloys looked like hell so this weekend I took them to get media blasted and powdercoated.
Now the staggered rims actually looks pretty cool (though not as good as four 17" rims).
I'll get some pics at the car show tomorrow then post them.

how? i can do around 180km/h just fine in 5th gear when its only around 4000 rpm, and i've only got the 1.3 sohc as opposed to your 1.6 dohc. in fact i can do 110mph in 4th gear, then its just below the rev limit, you were probly in 4th gear, not 5th.Joso wrote:My lanos did hit 180 km/h (around 112mph) last week, but it was in 5th at 6500 rpm. I guess it could be faster with a 6th gear.
Cargo cultism is a beautiful thing as long as you never fall for it.
Your car shouldn't be able to go faster than 170 km/h.Rodd1s wrote:how? i can do around 180km/h just fine in 5th gear when its only around 4000 rpm, and i've only got the 1.3 sohc as opposed to your 1.6 dohc. in fact i can do 110mph in 4th gear, then its just below the rev limit, you were probly in 4th gear, not 5th.Joso wrote:My lanos did hit 180 km/h (around 112mph) last week, but it was in 5th at 6500 rpm. Anyway, I'm sure we don't have the same transmision. My car has enough power to go faster than 180 km/h, but it just can't because at that speed you go at the limit of 5th gear. Simple as that.
I would like to know what's your car's max speed and, if possible, to see a pic/video of the speedo at that speed.
UMMM... a 1.5 SOHC goes up to 172km/h as per the user manual... how can yours go up to 180?Rodd1s wrote:how? i can do around 180km/h just fine in 5th gear when its only around 4000 rpm, and i've only got the 1.3 sohc as opposed to your 1.6 dohc. in fact i can do 110mph in 4th gear, then its just below the rev limit, you were probly in 4th gear, not 5th.Joso wrote:My lanos did hit 180 km/h (around 112mph) last week, but it was in 5th at 6500 rpm. Audio Freebies so far:
2 12" JL W1 subs with box
400w California Profile amp
Alpine Headunit
4 6.5" Sony Xplod speakers
Well I tested out all the freebie items and everything worked.
I installed the amp and the one 12" sub. I have another 12" sub that I plan to do an isobaric setup with. I need to cut out a speaker ring for it then it's going in.
I used all my previous stinger components from my previous install.
The single 12" sub really rattles the hell out of my car... I need sound deadener badly. Not bad for the amp and subs being 10 years old.
Tonight I'm going to install one of the 6.5" speaker sets in the rear slots and maybe the other in the hatch.
Also a posibility of finishing the isobaric setup.
