Hahahahaha - no way. We have an excellent international relationship outside the forum.
We just hassle each other about these sort of things
We still feel the love

i really like the rims, and the engine bay looks tidy.
but im really not a fan of that body styling at all...i dont mind body kits, but i dont think that works...theres just a bit too much going on for my liking

No problem.... I know you weren't being serious.... I don't know anything about your "relationship" with ubuyau.... for all I know your more than "just friends"Nubira2.2 wrote:sorry for they way i talk with Tim
Just keep in mind there are hundreds or even thousands of other people reading your post.... and some might judge you by what you throw down on this forum.
I'm not saying you shouldn't give him a hard time.... just rephrase it a bit.

Back to the topic....... nice work ubuyau..... I started to get interested in this post because I have purchased a Canadian 2002 Daewoo Lanos 1.5L SOHC from another member on this forum.
I'm making arrangements for shipping and I hope to see it in the first week of December.
The engine is not in great shape (sounds like it has a damaged connecting rod bearing) but I am tempted to boost the crap out of it and see how long it lasts.... just for the fun of it.
I also bought Lanos2001's car down in Oklahoma.... which has a decent 1.6L DOHC.... and body damage.... so that one will be turned into a pure drag racing car with tubular support throughout the vehicle... and it will recieve my "long term project" 2.2L engine.
My plan is to pull the 1.6L DOHC from the Oklahoma Lanos and drop it into the Canadian Lanos and build myself a nice little 1.6L Turbo.

Thanks everyone.
Nubira2.2 and I have a very healthy relationship
A timeslips and numbers page sounds like a good idea.
I am looking for another Lanos or maybe a Nubira I (like the J100 5 door hatch maybe?) as the next project car, but im having trouble finding one at a decent price with engine troubles (so its cheaper and can do the 2/2.2L engine swap straight away).
The little 1.5L took 6psi from the TD04 all day for 12 months/30000kms untuned with it running way rich...
The rings wore out, thats the only reason it stopped. Probably sped up by the fact i started to use lighter viscosity oil when i shouldve been going heavier if anything...
When the engine got split down everything was still in awesome condition. Crank, bearings, rods, pistons, the whole lot was in great condition - just too much wear on the rings...
Im building the 1.5L since no one else has. Im keen to see how it goes and handles medium boost from a decently sized turbo...

Progress Report: Well the engine has been getting put all back together.
The block and head all back together.
Intake Manifold and ancillaries remounted. Everything sprayed "Aluminium Silver" and "Anodised Blue" Blue
Filled motor mount
It's all coming together very nicely. I'm more excited each week!
