My lanos se

Post by rupertsub2003 »

Hey there ,

im a newbie here but glad i found the forum i think it will be very interesting for meets maybe , and help with finding and modifieing parts for the car :)

Ive noticed that some people are from the Canterbury area in Kent :)
Im down in New Romney so not much distance.

Got a couple of pictures of my 2nd Lanos that ive owned,

Specs are as follows:-
(To be honest its mostly Visual mods at the moment)

Clear side repeaters
14" Pcw alloys , on some not so spectacular Barum tires..
Added Fog lights
Light window tint all around
Removed them plastic protective parts down the doors
Sprayed body color .. Door handles , and mirrors
Flat aero wiper blades
H.I.D Conversion kit on Headlights and Fog lights..

Thats all i can think of really atm , but im sure il think of something :)

Comment back
Thanks

Rupert

hello mate and welcome to 'Wootech land.

i live in canterbury during the week whilst im at uni, but dont always have my car with me other than that i actually live in tonbridge (bout an hour away).

speaking of meets etc, we're having one in tonbridge on april 11th, let me know if u wana know more.

get some more pics of ur car up, liking the wheels, although they look a bit lost in the space of the arch sitting that high... get it lowered! changes the car a lot more than you expect lol.

Oh right cool , what sort of meet would that be im guessing mixed cars etc etc ..

You mention lowering it , its kinda pending to be honest im after putting lowering springs on it and changing all the absorbers . But i only really know of one place to get hold it all , if you know of any places that supply such stuff that will be great :), as im just stuck to one website for lanos parts ... Europerformance

p.s. Forgot to mention some mods aswell

Blackdiamond drilled and grooved discs + Pads
Cold air feed from front grill (removed that little resevior thing !)
.

(Re-located the front indicators and put some sidelights in there to add some different effect !) No pics for that though.

As i said if i think of anything il add :)

you only realdy need to change the shocks, if you lower the car more than 40mm

mine's lowered on the SPAX ssx spring kit (from eureperformance) @ 40mm. and with it only dropped that much i wouldnt worry about replacing the dampers as they dont bottom-out at all. the car's bodyroll has been greatly reduced, but the ride is a little stiff. i'd recommend the spax ssx springs.

alternatively apex springs are also quite good and go for almost half the price of spax ones if u can find somewhere that sells them. i recently saw a set of 30mm apex ones on ebay for £70 (compared the spax kit from europerformance being bout £120)

i'd stay away from gmax or pi springs though, their cheap prices may be appealing, but they're not all that in the long run.

Hi there , i got round to lowering it a few weeks back .
Body roll is almost gone on it , im looking into getting a front and rear strut brace and maybe some wheels spacers for it , i managed to get hold of some 40mm drop Omp springs off ebay . very good deal at £60 delivered new.

oh i also done a small mod to the lower front bumper , unsure about it at the moment but its growing on me !!

hello again matey, long time no speak lol.

the best place to get a strutbrace from in the uk is www.strutbracer.co.uk, although they only sell 'em for the 1.6 lanos, all you need to do is drill one extra hole to make it fit the 1.3 and 1.5 lanos regardless of whether its a hatchback or saloon. those are omp front upper strutbraces, and they cost about £80 deliverd and worth evry nugget if u ask me.

as for a rear strutbrace you'll hav to get one custom made as no company that i or most people know of make them for a lanos, unless u can get one from and older astra to fit as they have very similar rear suspension setups.

whats this front bumper mod u've done then? get some pics up
