Re: Espero by Viper
Hi viper,
i'm just curious about your fuel consumption with the new engine.
can you post your before and after (the engine swap) fuel consumption, in kilometers per liter figures
thanks much

Re: Espero by Viper
1.8 liter 95hp
"saving fuel" 9l/100km
normaly about 12l/100km
2.0 liter 172hp
"saving fuel" 8l/100km
normaly about 10-11l/100km
interesting, isn't it?

Re: Espero by Viper
oh those are nice figures interesting really how you achieve a better efficiency with the higher displacement. tell me again once you have your turbo hehe.
by the way, did you do some reconfigurations/reprogramming on the ecu to have it easy on the gas consumption?
this makes me confirm that there is really something wrong with the tuning of my espero. mine is only 1.5 DOHC, but i get only 12.5L/100km on city driving and 8.5L/100km on laid-back highway driving

Re: Espero by Viper
there is only one reason , I now have a stronger engine , so i need a lot less power to achieve a certain speed.. before I had to rev up the engine to "follow" traffic...now 3k rpm is inuff to be very quick
Re: Espero by Viper
yeah that most probably is the reason. I just thought of asking if you did something on the ecu so you could teach me
Really our esperos have such big and heavy body that a 1.5 (or even a 1.8 ) engine might be underpowered.
And yours now with the bigger engine, it lets you step less heavier on the gas pedal. unlike with the smaller engine which puts more effort to pull that heavy body, making it less efficient
Will definitely consider a 2.0 engine swap (instead of a turbo on the 1.5) when i have the money

Re: Espero by Viper
nope.. wrong G
it't vinyl .something like leather but ..I don't know how to explain it ..it's a little "rubbery" ..
the inserts in the doors , and central consol are alcantra
and yes, the doors are from fiberglass..
