quick question about obd 2 codes

Post by jidasas »

I had my car scanned today to see exactly which o2 sensor needs replaced...when I scanned it I got the code for the first 02 sensor...

My question is this though..there were 2 other codes in there. I don't remember what they were exactly but will try to recall most of what they said

"MOD $10 fuel mixture rich" and MOD $10 IAT sensor(the rest of the second one was something like...constant rate)

What is the MOD and why is there a $ sign in there?

I've never seen it before and will get a print out of it next monday and post exactly what it said...anyone who knows anything about this please respond

Well your fuel mixture is rich because you have a faulty O2 Sensor - as they control the fuel mixture.

As for the second one, I can only assume you have a faulty or dirty Air Intake Temp. Sensor. Which is a simple and cheap fix. I have like 2 extra.

I don't know what the MOD $ stands for.

I've never seen the mod $ either... maybe it's just a freak scanner thing...
