Leganza Water Pump Seal

Post by newTotheWoo »

I am wondering if I can replace the water pump seal on a 2.2 Leganza engine without changing the pump itself. I have a new used engine (27,000 miles) that I am putting in my car due to a broken timing belt.

Again, I ask for the collective wisdom of you fine people.

Spider said to look for tell-tail signs of water leaking. It seems to appear to have those stains. So much for a low mileage engine :(. How likely is this to bring my car/engine to a halt and leave my little daughter on the side of the road and me $1,000 poorer?javascript:emoticon('')

Yes, you can replace the o-ring without replacing the waterpump, but consideri the labour required to replace it 6 months from now when it fails (the Murphy's Law)... I would do it now, and not worry about it again.
